About Human Digital

B2B Digital Marketing. By Humans, For Humans.

At Human Digital, we believe in human connection. We exist at the intersection of people and performance, where digital tools amplify human understanding, and strategy meets empathy. We are a human-first, digital marketing agency that turns data into decisions and clicks into conversations.

Yes, we love spreadsheets, but even more, we love what they unlock: measurable outcomes that move people. We are not BAU. We help brands break habits, win hearts, and create work that sticks, scales, and sells.

The Role

We are looking for a Finance Analyst who will own the commercial engine of Human Digital. This is not a back-office number crunching role. You will sit at the centre of growth, working across client financials, project economics, invoicing, billing reconciliation, and finance reporting to ensure the business runs with precision and clarity.

You will be responsible for all things growth from a financial perspective, ensuring our commercial operations are tight, our reporting is sharp, and our leadership team has the visibility it needs to make confident decisions. You will work closely with the account management team, leadership, and our external accounting partner to keep the business financially healthy and commercially ambitious.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented but commercially minded, comfortable with both the spreadsheet and the strategy conversation, and energised by the pace and variety of agency life.

What You Will Do

Client & Project Financials

  • Own and manage client-level financial tracking, including budgets, actuals, and margin analysis across all accounts.
  • Monitor project profitability and flag variances early, working with account managers to keep projects on track commercially.
  • Support scoping and pricing for new work, providing financial modelling and scenario planning for proposals.

Invoicing & Billing Reconciliation

  • Manage end-to-end invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with scope and contracts.
  • Reconcile billing across clients and projects, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure invoices are paid on time, track outstanding payments, and work with account managers to flag delays and resolve issues.
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure invoices flow cleanly into the financial system.

Payroll & Resource Economics

  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing in coordination with our external accounting partner, ensuring accurate data entry for hours, bonuses, and leave.
  • Track and report on team utilisation and project allocation across the business.
  • Provide visibility on capacity, helping leadership make informed resourcing decisions.
  • Support forecasting for revenue, capacity, and project pipeline.

Finance Reporting & Growth

  • Build and maintain regular financial reporting for leadership, covering revenue, margins, cash flow, and key commercial metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that give the team real-time visibility into business performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the numbers and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Support leadership with financial insights that drive growth strategy and operational decisions.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the account management team to ensure financial alignment on all client work.
  • Work with leadership on commercial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with the external accounting team on month-end, reporting, and compliance.
  • General Administration: Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the leadership team and assist with general business operations as required.
  • Compliance: Assisting with regulatory filings or insurance renewals.

About You

  • You have experience in a finance, commercial operations, or business analyst role, ideally within an agency, professional services, or project-based environment.
  • You are confident with financial modelling, reporting, and analysis. Excel/Google Sheets proficiency is essential.
  • You understand project economics and how time, scope, and margin interact in a services business.
  • You are detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and a bias for accuracy.
  • You communicate clearly and can translate financial data into plain language for non-finance stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable working across teams and are not afraid to ask the hard commercial questions.
  • You are proactive, self-directed, and thrive with autonomy.
  • Experience with tools like Xero, HubSpot, or project management platforms is a plus.

Why Human Digital

  • Own the commercial operations function and shape how it grows alongside the business.
  • Work with a team that values connection, curiosity, and real outcomes.
  • Flexible hybrid or fully remote working from Sydney or Auckland.
  • A mix of ambitious local and global clients across B2B industries.
  • A culture built on sharp thinking, honest collaboration, and meaningful results.
