Sophie is the head of marketing and communications for ABB, one of the largest engineering companies in the world. ABB operates in over 100 countries and has around 150,000 employees. Sophie is part of the ABB New Zealand team, and is responsible for marketing and communications strategy in this country and the Asia Pacific.

What challenge were you trying to address with Human Digital?
I wasn’t satisfied with our previous digital marketing agency because they weren’t giving us advice on optimizing our campaigns. We needed help in digital marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Human Digital is helping us with digital and social media marketing. They handle everything — they give us advice on campaign optimization, key messaging, and market positioning.
Human Digital has integrated our campaigns to a Google dashboard, identifying clicks, impressions, clickthrough rates, and conversions. We study the figures and implement improvements monthly. They’ve also done a detailed report about our competitor landscape and campaign growth.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with Ben (Founder & Design Director) and Nick (Digital Marketing Manager), my account manager. Other teammates work behind the scenes, but we only deal with those two.
How did you come to work with Human Digital?
I found them through a Google search. I was looking for a local company to have instant responses and in-person meetings. I got a good feeling right away after speaking with Human Digital — they knew what they were talking about. I also liked their company culture and how they worked with various teams.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve invested over $300,000 NZD (approximately $200,00 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve started working together in September 2020, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Human Digital’s digital marketing activities have achieved a 200% ROI last year. Notably, they’ve helped us secure a $1 million deal with a petrol company. Their efforts have also contributed to various deals and sales-qualified leads. They’ve generated over two million impressions throughout our partnership.
Our teams in Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and other countries are also considering to work with Human Digital — that’s a testament to how well they fit in our organization.
How did Human Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Human Digital is excellent at project management — I’ve been in the industry for 14 years and never had a better experience. Their communication style is outstanding. We have monthly catch-ups to go through overall campaign results. We also have weekly meetings to discuss tasks for the 20 campaigns we’re running at the moment.
Human Digital is communicative, responsive, and reliable — I trust them. If I ask them to do something, they will accomplish it within the hour. In particular, Nick is outstanding to work with, and he’s very valuable in this partnership.
We collaborate through emails and Google Docs. We also have a dashboard that contains all the necessary information of our campaigns, which is helpful for me during management meetings. I can easily change details on our ads through a table. Human Digital’s processes are straightforward.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Nick’s enthusiasm and passion to help us succeed is impressive. He takes ownership of our projects, and he exerts so much effort to help us achieve our goals.
Human Digital gives us special treatment, and it’s not like we’re just a regular customer — the results speak for themselves. They nurture us, hold our hands when we need explanations, and work hard to hit our targets. They’ve made great strides in helping us improve our organization.

I can’t think of anything.
